Save paper with this USB Digital Fax Machine

I used to think that the fax machine would be one of those primitive gadgets that died off  once broadband internet became widely available. In the last few years I’ve come to understand that we’re probably stuck with this already-ancient technology for at least another decade. Sure, there are other methods of sending documents electronically, but fax machines are cheap and simple, which will make them very difficult to replace completely. However, if you’re stuck dealing with faxes, why not be as high-tech as possible?

This Paperless USB Digital Fax Machine is a great way to cut down on paper if you receive a lot of fax transmissions. I’m sure that environmentalists everywhere will rejoice at this gadget which will no doubt save plenty of trees. Rather than printing out all of the pages, it simply stores your faxes on the PC, and then you can choose which ones you actually need hard copies of. Unfortunately if you want to send documents that aren’t stored on your computer, you’ll have to find a regular fax machine, or at least scan them to your PC. Saving trees is costly, as this fax machine will set you back a whopping $135.99.

Inkel IDS-1500 WiFi phone dock keeps the iPod in awkward company

Posted Mar 10th 2008 1:12PM by Paul Miller
Filed under: Home Entertainment, Portable Audio
You know how Apple products get when they’re around their “lesser” consumer electronics counterparts at parties. It starts with a lack of eye contact and some foot scuffing, and ends badly with a scene in close proximity to the punch bowl. That said, Inkel’s giving it a shot with this here IDS-1500 WiFi phone dock, which mixes an ipod dock with internet radio functionality and song playback through the phone. Not a bad combination in the least, so as long as the iPod steers clear of the alcohol. No word on price or availability.

6 kinds of different interesting clock.

6 kinds of different interesting clock.Feb 13, 2008
If you haven’t found the funniest clock for your home or office yet, this article will help you to do it. The following top 6 is a piece of advice which clock to choose. All kinds of clock were designed for different people. I hope you will select something for yourself.

Number 6.
Visible Dual Gear Gadget Clock looks like a toy from your childhood. These are rather nice associations, don’t you think? The gadget is a nice example of the clockwork for children.

The clock is multicolored and, actually, looks like a kid has already taken it to pieces. It may be called the two-in-one gadget: on the one hand it is pretty clock and on the other hand it is an educational toy.

Number 5.
Gear Alarm Clock is great in its own way. It has retro design. It will look perfectly in your room if you have some more gadgets looking the same. The clock has 2 old-fashioned bell strikers that will wake you up in the morning very quickly.

You may try to throw the clock away if its bells annoy you. It looks almost like the previous one - like it has already been thrown.

Number 4.
Analog Digital Clock is great for kids and teenagers. The clock has even more features than you expect from it. Its functions are not just to wake you up in the morning and show the exact time - it will also distract you.

Plug in play ability with the latest Microsoft and Macintosh OS’s will help you to enjoy yourself. The good point is that there is nothing complicated with its work. You will easily find the USB port and have fun as long as you want. Thanks to the gadget’s design, it will be very comfortable for you to have fun.

Number 3.
The Directors Edition Digital Alarm Clock will definitely attract a lot of attention. You may say you had taken it from a survey. It shows the most exact time and looks funny and unusual at the same time.

Feel yourself a director of a film in the morning - clip the board just like you are beginning a film in order to switch off the alarm. Cheer yourself up from the beginning of the day.

Number 2.
12 Hour AM/PM Time Cube is really stylish and modern clock. It will be perfect for your office. Everyone will wonder what it is. The clock has unusual clock-hands. They look in the following way: a section of one of the corners has been divided into three separate rotating triangular slices that rotate around a central reference line.

These slices act as clock-hands. At first you will be able to understand the way the clock shows the time. So, thanks to such an outstanding and cool design the clock will take its honorable place at your home or in the office.

Number 1.
And the first place takes Large Screen Mini Digital Photo Frame with Alarm Clock. It means that you may wake up in the morning and see someone’s pretty face on the screen. There can be put either your or your sweetheart’s photo. It is so easy to upload your best photos and enjoy them.

As a bonus, the clock also has a calendar. The gadget has 2 MB of internal memory. It is not so much, but rather enough. The photos will be automatically resized to fit the screen. And as a result, it will be the greatest accessory for your room or office.

AquaSpherePRO Dispensing System

Folks who own a pond at home will find that maintaining it can be rather hard work. The AquaSpherePRO Dispensing System aims to ease your burden, as all you need to do is drop this patented, pond-maintenance dispensing system into the water in order for it to work. It functions by using continuous-release technology, turning it into an on-site bacteria “factory”, incubating, growing, and dispensing beneficial bacteria into the water 24/7 for up to 30 days. It operates most effectively in water temperatures between 34° F and 110° F, and has no particular season in which the AquaSpherePRO can be used in your pond. Prices range from $39.99 to $174.99, depending on how large of a pond you have.

HANNSpree hits new low with HANNSMilano handbag TV

Posted Mar 10th 2008 1:44PM by Donald Melanson
Filed under: Displays HANNSpree’s never been one to shy away from unconventional designs for its TVs, but the company has really outdone itself with its new “HANNSMilano” model, which it says is “inspired by today’s modern woman.” That inspiration apparently resulted in a genuine leather exterior with “intricate detailing,” which surrounds a wholly unremarkable 9.6-inch LCD screen — with a handy carrying strap rounding the look, of course. Sadly, there’s no word on a release ’round these parts, but those in the UK will be able to get their hands on one of these later this month for £130 (or about $260).

Laser Harp built from scratch

Now here’s a musical instrument that will definitely make your day - a Laser Harp. Created by Stephen Hobley, this guy was inspired by Jean Michael Jarre stringing his highly theatrical Laser Harp live 22 years ago, and has finally achieved his dream of building one just like it. The Laser Harp can be built for less than $600, although you will need to pick up the $19 Laser Harp Plans and Source Code first. The “strings” on the Laser Harp doesn’t really make any sound as they’re just triggers for notes that are produced on a MIDI. Can someone make a Laser Guitar to woo a 21st century Juliet?

51 booths in CeBIT 2008 get raided after patent infringement

51 booths during the 2008 CeBIT annual trade show were raided by German police due to breaches of patents with the MP3 file format. Various models of cellphones, mobile music players, satellite navigation devices and even screens were confiscated following the raid.

The patent complaints that started it all came from an Italian firm called Sisvel, who filed the said complaints on behalf of big companies including Philips, one of the largest electronic companies in the world, who through an agreement is granted the right to demand a licensing fee for consumer electronics devices sold in Europe.

The funny thing is, some of the companies involved in the patent crackdown were repeat offenders, and that Sisvel has been keeping an eye out for companies like these for a couple of years now. Chinese company Meizu, with its so-called “legitimate iphone knockoff”, the Meizu Mini One, was not surprisingly included in the list of raided companies for its new portable mp3 player.

The 180 person team, composed mainly of police and custom officers, were led by Senior Detective Oliver Stock in searching the booths of companies from China, Taiwan, South Korea, Germany, Poland and the Netherlands. Hopefully, this serves as a lesson to those who plan on joining CeBIT in 2009.

Plug It makes USB adapter cables even more convenient

Posted Mar 10th 2008 4:57AM by Thomas Ricker
Filed under: Misc. gadgets
A cable has to have a certain something to cause optical interrupt to these trade-show weary eyes. Then this comes along, the Plug It USB adapter. We doubt it’s the “world’s smallest” USB charging and data cable as they claim. Nevertheless, it’s definitely convenient and small enough to be slung from your keys or even that eyelet found on many mobile devices including most cellphones. At the moment, it’s available in a handful of proprietary models for connecting to a wide range of Samsung and Nokia devices. A mini USB version allows it to connect to just about everything else including Blackberrys, cameras, PMPs, MP3 players, etc etc. Well, except that ipod in your pocket. Available now for about €8/$12 — video demonstration after the break.

USB Webcam Rocket Launcher

Where would we be without Instant Messaging? It lets us stay in contact and chat with friends all over the world (especially delightful during work hours). But sometimes the urge to reach out a shoot someone is unbearable. And that’s where the USB MSN Missile Launcher comes in. Don’t be content with sharing images, jokes, and assorted links with your friends - it’s time to share missiles!

You’ll have your USB MSN Missile Launcher set up within minutes and that’s when the fun begins. For you see, as you chat you and your buddies can control each other’s launcher. And since each USB MSN Missile Launcher has an integrated webcam (which can be used as just a webcam if you haven’t any buddies), you’ll know exactly when you are aimed at your buddy’s head. Then fire away! The only downside is that your buddy can do the same to you! The upside is, you can always retaliate by turning your buddy’s USM MSN Missile Launcher to face the door of his office and peg his boss in the gut when he/she comes to lecture your buddy about using IM for non-work-related matters. Ah the joys of progress . . . and revenge.

Gimmie!
