Transcend has added a new portable hard drive in its arsenal of data storage products – the shock resistant StoreJet 25 mobile. For a hard drive to be called portable, it must not only be small in size but light weight, high capacity and well protected. This is exemplified by Trascend’s newest portable hard drive, the StoreJet25 mobile.
Just by looking at the release photos of the StoreJet 25 mobile alone, you’d immediately notice its durability specifically if you noticed the extra-rugged silicon case that is covering the StoreJet 25. Make no mistake though, the rugged feature is not all for aesthetic purpose but it serves as a proofing for the StoreJet 25 mobile. It protects data damage due to accidental slips or falls. In fact the StoreJet 25 mobile has already passed the U.S. military drop test (MIL-STD-810F) hence making it a shock-resistant HD.
The StoreJet 25 mobile is truly a portable hard drive in the true sense of the word portable. It weighs a mere 7.2-ounces and measures 5.27 x 3.18 x 0.74-inches. Those measurements, at least by my standards are enough to make the StoreJet 25 mobile truly portable.
And to make users lives easier, the StoreJet 25 mobile uses a high-speed USB 2.0 interface with date transfer rates of up to 480mb per second. The StoreJet25 mobile also fully supports plug and play which make it compatible with most notebooks and laptops regardless of brand. Adding more value to the StoreJet 25 mobile is the inclusion of the Auto-Backup and its bundled StoreJet elite software, which offers intelligent backup scheduling, security and file compression functions.
The StoreJet 25 mobile is currently available in either a 160Gb or 250GB option and they retail for $128 and $176 respectively.

…boring. Okay, so that is just my opinion but I sure hope that there are a far more interesting videos out there than some of those who won. Sure, the ‘laughing baby’ is really cute but really, what’s so funny about the Potter Puppet Pals? I won’t criticize each and every winner and the nominees. After all, it’s the millions of YouTubers who have voted for these videos. Votes were cast during a week-long time frame and the winners were announced Friday. Twelve YouTube videos luckily won. I say luckily because not all are undeserving. But hey, they are the winners. They deserve at least to be recognized.
Here are the top winners:
- Adorable: Laughing Baby from gsager1234
- Commentary: LonelyGirl15 is Dead! from WHATTHEBUCKSHOW
- Eyewitness: Battle at Kruger from Jason275
- Instructional: How to solve a Rubik’s Cube from pogobat
- Politics: Stop the Clash of Civilizations from AvaazOrg
- Short Film: My Name is Lisa from sheltonfilms
- Comedy: Potter Pupper Pals in “The Mysterious” from NeilCicierega
- Creative: The Original Human TETRIS Performance from notsonoisy
- Inspirational: Blind Painter from texascountryreporter
- Music: “Chocolate Rain” Original Song by Tay from TayZonday
- Series: The Guild - Episode 1: Wake-Up Call from watchtheguild
- Sports: Balloon Bowl from davetheknave
Winners receive a trophy and an invitation to a special YouTube event later this year. And of course, how could I forget bragging rights. Let’s hope that next year’s winners won’t disappoint.

If you’re one of the many folks in the world who likes their cereal crunchy, and doesn’t like it getting soggy, but constantly pouring milk into the bowl a little bit at a time is a pain, then you need the EatMeCrunchy bowl. It’s pretty simple as these “why didn’t i think of it” inventions usually are - it’s a shelf that sits in a bowl that covers about 70% of the base, so that your milk sits in the bottom and your dry (and still crunchy) cereal sits on the shelf just waiting for you to push it into the milk for the right amount of mixing.
The shelf is removable and both bowl and shelf are dishwasher safe. Unfortunately, for you Yanks, you’ll have to pay a bit extra for shipping from the UK, but worry not, it’s not that expensive, especially if this is one of your daily quirks, umm… needs.

We’ve seen the smaller Kaossilator Touchpad Synthesizer and the Mini-Kaoss Touchpad Effects Processor in the past, but the KP3 Touchpad Dynamic Effect Sampler beats those out in terms of functionality.
By simply touching, tapping or sliding your finger over the touchpad, the all-new KP3 allows you to control multiple effects parameters and manipulate samples in real time. On stage or in the studio, these gestures and moves can become powerful and expressive performance elements. More than a processor, the KP3 is a complete instrument allowing you to manage, recall, and play back samples; sample on the fly; and add dynamic processing to any audio signal or to the samples themselves. A new pad lighting system places 64 individual LEDs in an eight by eight grid under the pad, providing visual cues as to the current program, held position, etc. – it can even scroll a custom message across the pad!
With 128 sound effects to choose from, the $399.99 KP3 Touchpad Dynamic Effect Sampler would surely make a suitable present for whoever has more than a passing interest in making their own grooves.

There is nothing quite like a red hot pair of lips to get your blood coursing through your veins, and this Kiss Me Phone is more than able to cause that effect in any hot-blooded male at first glance.
Hard-wired phones seem to have moved from essential to retro in virtually no time at all, and this landline phone cleverly disguised as a sexy pair of lips is no exception - indeed it’s more of an objet d’art than a phone. Nevertheless it’s still irresistible. Whether you’re a lothario or a vamp, or just into retro kitsch, the Kiss Me Phone is a piece of kit that pushes all the buttons, in a manner of speaking. It comes with UK and European telephone cables, has a push button operation concealed in the top lip, and is just crying out for some hushed, wicked and no doubt lascivious conversation.
This 22cm x 12cm x 5cm novelty phone retails for £19.99 and is a surefire conversation starter in more ways than one.

In the fitness arena, companies never seem to tire of offering up products with the supposed ability to exercise our bodies without requiring us to actually do anything - and the market will continue to thrive as long as the gullible and lazy among us keep feeding it. Vibrating belts designed to trim our waists while we watch tv and exercise machines that promise to give us glutes of steel in just 4 minutes a day seem very compelling during bouts of insomnia at four in the morning.
Oh, but these muscle tone garments from Japanese sportwear maker Asics are different (until proven otherwise) because they assist you in toning your muscles during exercise. They’re made of elastic materials that pull your muscles together so that, for instance, with the upper body version, your shoulder blades are pulled toward the spine to correct posture. The lower body version pulls at the muscles in your butt and thighs. I suppose the idea is that the additional resistance resulting from this pulling makes exercising those areas of the body more efficient, like carrying weights in your hands while jogging.
The company makes eleven different versions of the muscle tone garment, some made of mesh for hot summers.

Seems like a lot of brilliant ideas abound in the mind of desktop computing visionary Art.Lebedev. After giving us that funky, interactive, and slightly over-priced Optimus Maximus keyboard, he now plans on making an entirely new type of keyboard to remedy the lack of physical keys in the Maximus. This year, he says their team’s goal is to create a prototype of a keyboard with transparent keys overlayed on a single display. Basically, what they’re trying to do with this is create an entirely visual keyboard, but instead of patching together hundreds of different screens for keys, they will use only one big screen. Trying to picture this thing working is hard in itself, so I won’t count on this project to be completed any time soon. But they are aiming to have this completed before the year ends and hopefully start production of it at that time as well. Or if not, then production will start in early 2009.

Warnings and reminders are on everything from coffee to lawnmowers. Are they necessary? Can anyone be protected from doing mindless, thoughtless acts?
Maybe not, but it is still important for companies to make an effort to make their products safe for the consumer. Verizon is steeping up to the plate. They are reminding California drivers about the dangers of driving while gabbing on cell phones. If the message resonates with their subscribers they will also save them some dollars. Instead of spending those dollars on traffic fines I would suggest investing in a Bluetooth headset with voice dialing capabilities.
July 1st, 2008 marks the day that all California drivers must use handsfree options to talk on their cell phones while driving. Under the new law (VC 23123) anyone over 18 years old could be fined at least $20 and as much as $50 for each violation if caught not following the rules. If you noticed I said anyone over 18 years old. Drivers under 18 are out of luck because under this new law (VC 23124) they will not be allowed to speak on their cell phones while driving – handsfree or not.
A few of the reminders include presetting voicemail, favorite music playlists, most dialed numbers and even adding the address into navigation service before you begin driving.
Another Verizon reminder that should be obvious - do not read or send text or multimedia messages while driving.
We can all be sure that the law may be in California today but tomorrow may be in our home state. Fortunately following this law is not difficult. Technologies such as Bluetooth make it very easy to talk on and to operate our cell phones without removing our hands from the wheel – hence the term handsfree.
